Remember that? It seemed like it had some mysterious, but weighty symbolic significance -- and then the writers just dropped it. Apparently they had written themselves into a corner! I also think that Kate has become less annoying since she first left the Island. Motherhood seemed to suit her. Though I guess she's not a mother any more.
